WAR to Keep Defense Industry alive

New Article questions Christian Faith of Presidential Candidates

A General having seen the atrocities caused by wars, who later on became President, said this in his televised farewell speech on January 17, 1961, regarding the cold war: “We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose and insidious in method", and warned about what he saw as unjustified government spending proposals and continued with a warning that we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex.

This General and former President of the United States was President Eisenhower, and he knew what he was talking about. He was aware of the pressure future Presidents would face from the Defense Industry, which has increased dramatically since 1961 and currently accounts for approx. 13 to 15 Trillion Dollars GDP annually.

The three largest defense companies are in the United States, employing approx. a half a million people and in order to keep manufacturing and employing people, war is needed. Without war there’s no need for defense machinery, be it weaponry, military planes, drones, tanks, rockets, etc. PEACE would destroy this industry – these Companies can not afford to have peace. And the defense industry is very powerful, thus whatever any candidate currently running for President may say to appease the people, the one thing people want to hear is the one thing they will not be able to promise the people, and that is peace.

Though many of us having grown up in exemplary homes – parents teaching us well, bringing us up with good manners, taught that every problem can be solved by calmly sitting down to discuss the issue, to then come to an agreement – may wonder why these people, currently in the leading positions of the different countries around the world, arrogantly insisting they’re the smartest to lead their people, are giving us the impression that they’re unable to do the one thing for which ” language” came into being = communicate.

Dumb people can only think of fighting.
Wise men, however, always find a way to keep the peace.

I don’t want to hear from the Candidates how many more troops they will send, etc. I want to hear from the candidates how they believe they can bring PEACE because each of them talks about Christianity, quoting Jesus, while yet who of them is willing to break bread with the enemy to make him our friend ? Who is the one willing to stand up and say something that will make the blind men see ? And that Person, willing and able to do that, is one deserving of leading this nation. - Leagan E. Kasper
